Real Sociedad have on Thursday been afforded a last-minute injury boost.

As much comes ahead of the Basque outfit’s final La Liga outing of the season, against Atlético Madrid on Saturday evening.

Imanol’s troops are set to play host to capital giants Atléti at Anoeta, having already tied up 6th-place in the Spanish top-flight table.

With their upcoming opponents having secured 4th, and a place in next season’s Champions League, too, the matchup is therefore of little importance when it comes to the term as a whole.

Nevertheless, it will no doubt come as a boost to those of a Real Sociedad persuasion hopeful of seeing their side go out on a high to hear that a leading member of the club’s defensive ranks is back in contention to feature at the weekend.

The player in question? Robin Le Normand.

Stopper Le Normand was for his part forced to sit out against Real Betis last weekend, owing to muscular discomfort.

With the Spanish international having remained absent from training across the week to date, his status to face Atlético was therefore considered as being up in the air.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, though, La Real’s supporters need not fret.

This comes amid confirmation that Le Normand was back in full training alongside the rest of his teammates on Thursday.

The 27-year-old should in turn be passed fit to take to the pitch on Saturday evening.

On the other hand, all of Martín Zubimendi, Igor Zubeldia , Aihen Muñoz and Carlos Fernández remain unavailable for selection to Imanol and his staff.
