Florian Wirtz, a highly sought-after Bayer Leverkusen talent, is currently one of the standout players, and his future has been a topic of significant interest, especially among top European clubs like Real Madrid.

However, recent reports from German outlet Kicker indicate that Wirtz will not be making a move in 2025, quashing any hopes of an immediate transfer to Madrid or other interested teams.

Wirtz, whose contract with Bayer Leverkusen runs until 2027, is undeniably a player the club cannot easily replace.

His unique abilities and contributions on the pitch have made him a vital part of Leverkusen’s setup, and the club understands the importance of keeping him for as long as possible.

As a result, Leverkusen are actively working to extend Wirtz’s contract, ensuring that the talented midfielder remains at the club for the foreseeable future.

The figures to pay

There are also indications that a move to either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 is highly unlikely.

Industry insiders suggest that the Bavarian giants would struggle to finance such a transfer, which could cost upwards of €150 million, not to mention a salary exceeding €20 million euros annually.

Given the financial strain that such a deal would impose, Bayern’s chances of securing Wirtz appear minimal.

Both Wirtz and Bayer Leverkusen have expressed a strong mutual desire to continue their collaboration. Reports suggest that Wirtz is happy to stay at the club for at least another year, with the possibility of a move in the summer of 2026.

During this time, Wirtz is open to a more modest contract, with a salary in the double digits of millions, which reflects his commitment to the team while also acknowledging his future ambitions.

At this point, it seems almost certain that Wirtz will remain at Bayer Leverkusen for the next year and a half, making a transfer to any other club, including Real Madrid, highly improbable in the immediate future.
