Real Madrid are moving quickly behind the scenes as they prepare to reshape their squad ahead of a packed summer, and one of the club’s priorities is bringing back Nico Paz before the end of June.

According to Cadena COPE (via SPORT), Los Blancos are working to re-sign the Argentine talent from Como before June 30 in order to include him in the squad for the Club World Cup in the United States.

When Real Madrid sold him to Como, the deal included a €9 million buyback clause that becomes active on July 1. However, the Club World Cup kicks off on June 14, and Madrid would ideally like him back in time to be registered and involved in the competition.

To achieve that, Madrid may have to reach a separate agreement with Como, likely involving either financial compensation or a player exchange from La Fabrica, to fast-track his return.

Turning heads at Como

Nico’s development at Como has been outstanding. Under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder has blossomed into one of Serie A’s breakout stars, playing a key role in Como’s success and earning the trust of his manager.

His performances have reportedly attracted interest from top Italian clubs as well, but Madrid’s buyback clause gives them full control of his future.

While the deal to re-sign him might cost more, the long-term vision is clear. Incoming manager Xabi Alonso, though not yet officially announced, is believed to be a strong advocate for integrating young talent.

Unlike Carlo Ancelotti, who often leaned on experience, Alonso is expected to prioritise youth and give promising players like Nico more opportunities.

There is also a financial incentive. Real Madrid retained 50% of Nico’s future sale rights when he moved to Como, so if the club were to wait and let another European team pounce, they would be forced into a more complex financial scenario.

By acting now, they can bring the player back fully and bolster their midfield options ahead of a demanding season.
