Following a series of grim injury updates over the past week, Real Madrid were greeted with some good news on the fitness front today as star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois resumed training with the group.
Indeed, the 32-year-old shot-stopper, who has been out of action since the game against Borussia Dortmund last month due to an adductor injury, resumed training today, which comes as a boost for the Merengues.
Now, journalist Mario Cortegana reports that both Courtois and Real Madrid strongly expect that he will be ready to play once the international break is over.
Los Blancos will resume the defence of their title with a clash against Leganes after the international break and if nothing goes wrong, the 32-year-old Belgian will be ready to reclaim his starting berth in that fixture.

During Courtois’ absence, Andriy Lunin has stepped into the goal but has been unable to replicate his heroics from last season.
The Ukrainian international shipped in four goals against Barça and conceded three more in the following encounter against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
As such, Courtois’ return will be a welcome boost for Real Madrid as they chase Barça in the La Liga title race while also hoping to revive their fortunes in Europe.
Before his injury, the 32-year-old ace, who is still unwilling to return to the Belgian national team under current management, has played 12 times in all competitions, keeping four clean sheets in the process.
