Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham reflected on his first goal of the season, acknowledging the discussions surrounding his goal-scoring abilities from the previous campaign.

The English international shared his understanding of the expectations placed on him following his impressive goal tally last season but reiterated that his responsibilities now extend beyond scoring goals.
“I played as I always do, but this time I scored a goal. There was a lot of talk about me because I scored a lot of goals last season, but my role has changed this season to other areas of the pitch,” he began saying.
His primary aim is to assist his teammates and help the team achieve its objectives. He has embraced a more selfless approach, and his desire to remain focused on helping the squad in every way possible is clear.
“I will do anything for the good of the team. I have been less selfish and I would like to continue like this. My objective is to help the team in any way I can.”

Bellingham also took time to praise his teammate, Vinicius Jr, who had an extraordinary performance against Osasuna, netting a hat-trick. Bellingham highlighted his resilience, particularly after a challenging few weeks for both the player and the team.
“Vinicius has a lot of mental strength. The last two or three weeks have been difficult for everyone and for him too,” he noted
According to Bellingham, Vinicius’ mental strength is remarkable, and his leadership on the pitch is a source of inspiration for the entire squad. His ability to perform under pressure makes him a pivotal figure for Real Madrid.
“I get on very well with him and I am very proud of the way he behaves when playing; he is a leader for us and we look to him for inspiration. When he plays like that he is unstoppable.”
Regarding the 4-0 victory over Osasuna, Bellingham described it as the most complete performance of the season. He praised the team’s high-pressing game, excellent ball control, and their ability to create multiple goal-scoring chances.
“Yes, it was our most complete game. High pressure, ball control… we created goal-scoring opportunities. It all started with how we started the game, we were strong and we held on for the entire game. All the players shone today,” he expressed.

Lastly, Bellingham expressed concern over the injuries to several of his teammates, including Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, and particularly Eder Militao.
Militao’s injury, which is his second serious knee setback in just over a year, was especially hard for Bellingham to watch. He described the situation as heartbreaking, noting how much Militao had worked to recover and return to full fitness.
“It is horrible to see these injuries, especially Militao’s. He has fought hard to come back and be here with us and to get injured again, even without knowing the severity, breaks your heart,” he concluded.
The team’s spirit is undoubtedly impacted by such injuries, but Bellingham remains hopeful that his teammates will recover and continue contributing to the squad’s success.
