A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has today been tipped for a surprise move to England, with Bournemouth.

The player in question? Fran García.

Left-back García, for his part, is understood to be open to a new challenge this summer.

Fresh off a campaign in Spain’s capital which saw him act as backup to first-choice Ferland Mendy in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, The Athletic have confirmed that:

‘If a good offer arrives that he is happy with, he would be willing to negotiate a move elsewhere.’

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are also not opposed to a sale, amid long-standing interest in bringing in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.

In turn, it will no doubt be of interest to club and player alike to hear that a keen suitor has this week emerged for García’s signature.

Premier League outfit Bournemouth, it is claimed, ‘are keen on recruiting him this summer’.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola is a long-term admirer of the talents boasted by the 24-year-old, viewing him as the perfect replacement for the departed Lloyd Kelly.

Negotiations between the parties, in turn, are soon expected to be kicked into gear.
