Real Madrid have taken a significant step in securing their long-term future by finalising a new contract for Brahim Diaz.

As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is complete and the renewal will be signed very soon.

The deal ensures the Moroccan international remains a part of Los Blancos’ plans for the foreseeable future, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his future.

This marks the second time Brahim has renewed his contract with Real Madrid in recent years, having also signed an extension in 2023 until 2027. As part of the new deal, he will extend his stay for the next five years.

Premier League interest shut down

The 25-year-old has been a subject of serious interest from clubs in the Premier League following his impressive performances last season.

However, Real Madrid moved quickly to fend off any potential suitors. With this renewal, any lingering doubts over his future can now be put to bed.

Despite the new deal, Brahim’s buyout clause is set to remain at an eye-watering €750 million, making it virtually impossible for any club to lure him away from the Santiago Bernabeu without Real Madrid’s consent.

Xabi Alonso’s role

It is said that new manager Xabi Alonso is a fan of Brahim’s skillset and versatility. The player was often used by Carlo Ancelotti last season as a game-changing substitute.

While Alonso’s tactical approach is expected to differ, Brahim’s adaptability makes him an asset regardless of system.

Whether he features more prominently under the new boss remains to be seen, but the fact that the club pushed through this renewal speaks volumes about how highly he is rated.

Brahim becomes the second Real Madrid player to renew his contract this summer, following Asensio’s deal until 2031.

Up next is Thibaut Courtois, whose contract currently runs until 2026. Real Madrid are clearly working swiftly to secure core players before turning full focus to the transfer market.
