Real Madrid have their priorities set straight for the upcoming summer transfer window and are not holding back in firing on all cylinders.
Los Blancos have long identified Trent Alexander-Arnold to be their top target at right-back and the youngster signing is now ever so close after last night’s developments.
Dean Huijsen, meanwhile, is emerging as a top defensive target for the centre-back position with the player’s father even dropping a major hint last night over his son’s next step.
Now, Partidazo COPE brings to light a third high-profile target for Real Madrid and it is none other than Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi.
As relayed by the Spanish outlet, Real Madrid are trying hard to sign Zubimendi. The player’s agent is in contact with Florentino Perez and all signs point to the midfielder’s exit from Real Sociedad.
The report also adds that Real Madrid are putting serious pressure on Zubimendi and his environment to push for a departure. Primarily, they offer a better sporting project with more glamour and accolades.

While the Spaniard is comfortable in the Basque country, Real Sociedad do not offer him guaranteed UEFA Champions League action nor a real chance to win big titles. Real Madrid hope to tempt the player on that front and pull off the miracle signing.
The 26-year-old’s current contract with the Basque side runs until June 2027 and Real Madrid may have to pay a sizeable sum to secure his signing.
Given how their midfield has lacked defensive stability in recent times with Aurelien Tchouameni’s unpredictability and Eduardo Camavinga’s uncertain fitness, Zubimendi’s arrival will help them solidify their presence and ensure stability in the middle of the park.
Moreover, the Spaniard is an able passer of the ball and can dictate play from the deep, something Los Blancos have lacked since the departure of Toni Kroos who handled that responsibility in his final years at the club.
So far this season, Zubimendi has made 27 league appearances for Real Sociedad and averages over ten defensive actions per game. He also completes 84% of his passes on average.
