According to SPORT, several Real Madrid players have stopped believing in Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics and footballing approach this season.

While Ancelotti remains popular as a person and is known for keeping a calm and respectful dressing room, that personal touch has not been enough to cover for the team’s lack of football identity on the pitch this season.

His man-management style still earns him respect, but when it comes to tactical decisions, many players are no longer convinced.

Ancelotti is known for shaping his system around the strengths of his players. But this season, he has struggled to strike the right balance.

The Real Madrid squad has felt unbalanced, and his continued trust in underperforming players has raised concerns within the team. Therefore, as results began to slip, so did the players’ belief in his ideas.

A season full of doubts and decline

Although Madrid made a strong start with 10 unbeaten matches, their form dropped suddenly. They went on to lose five of the next 11 games.

One major turning point was their defeat to Barcelona in La Liga, which raised serious questions inside the dressing room.

The loss in the Spanish Super Cup final added more frustration, as confidence in Ancelotti’s footballing plan hit an all-time low.

Ancelotti’s system relies heavily on individual talent in attack, without a clear creative structure. His approach has been more defensive, leaving the offensive work to the players’ instincts.

But this lack of organisation began to show as the season went on. Injuries and fatigue among regular starters made things worse, and the team looked disjointed and unsure of what they were trying to achieve.

Losses continued to pile up — another defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, a humiliating 1-5 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League, and a poor run in La Liga, where they dropped 11 out of 36 possible points.

A common theme in all of this was the lack of a clear football plan. Relying only on defending and moments of magic no longer seems enough and for many players, it never was.
