Real Madrid have entered the race for Fenerbahce wonderkid Arda Guler, according to the Spanish outlet Marca.
Guler has enjoyed a stratospheric rise to prominence with Fenerbahce and recently bagged his maiden goal for the Turkey national team.
The teenage prodigy curled a brilliant effort with his left foot against Wales in a 2024 European Championship qualifier to open his account for Turkey.
Billed as the next big thing in world football, Guler has been the subject of interest from several big clubs in Spain and Italy.
Sevilla were reportedly in pole position to sign him, while AC Milan were progressing in their talks to sign the Turkish prodigy, who holds a release clause worth around €18 million.
Madrid, who have also been tracking Guler, are now looking to spoil the party by trying to lure him to the Spanish capital.
Los Blancos are home to some of the world’s finest young talents – Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and Fran Garcia, to name a few – and they have now set their sights on Guler.
However, Madrid are planning to send Guler to the Castilla (reserve team) rather than the first team, which could see him have reservations about the transfer.
Guler will be aiming for more playing time at his next club to progress his career further – which would be guaranteed with Sevilla or Milan.
The Turkish prospect is one to watch out for in the transfer market, and the battle for his signature will be one of the biggest this summer.
