Having made four signings in the ongoing transfer window, Real Madrid consider their squad for the next season to be pretty much complete.

With Gonzalo Garcia and the four new signings – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, and Franco Mastantuono, the club has filled the 25-player squad limit allowed by La Liga.

As such, the focus has shifted primarily towards offloading players, with names like Ferland Mendy on the exit list.

However, the club is still keeping an eye on the market, with focus being on the possibility of adding another central defender. And Liverpool ace Ibrahima Konate remains on the agenda.

Late offer not ruled out

As such, According to L’Equipe (h/t AS), Real Madrid may make a late offer for Konate before the transfer window closes, aiming to surprise Liverpool and force a decision.

The 26-year-old Liverpool centre-back is under contract until 2026 and has yet to renew. If the Premier League champions do not sell this summer, they risk losing him for free next year.

Liverpool are highly alert to this situation, especially after the Trent Alexander-Arnold case. The Reds are determined not to repeat the same mistake.

As such, a big contract offer for Konate is in the works, but in case there is no agreement, a departure remains on the table. And, Real Madrid are not ruling out the possibility of making a late offer for the French international.

In that scenario, though, Liverpool will not sell the player for less than €50 million. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are not willing to offer more than €20-25 million. And a bid in the same region late in the window might force the English champions to reconsider their stance.
