Real Madrid perennially have their eye on the market for young and talented players and Franco Mastantuno is one who seriously interests the club offices on that front.
The River Plate starlet, after all, is seen as one of world football’s most sought-after talents and clubs across the world are interested in his signing. The big hurdle, however, is his release clause.
As it stands, there is no concrete movement for the player and a move to Europe in January is close to ruled out. The scenario in June, however, is different.
Over the past few months, Real Madrid solidified their position as one of the best-placed teams to sign Mastantuono. In fact, they were one of the first elite clubs to take notice of the player.
According to the latest update from AS, however, that interest has fizzled out in recent times and the club no longer want the player as staunchly as they once did.

Real Madrid are indeed planning a restructuring of the squad in the coming transfer windows but the young phenom is no longer a priority. Other clubs, in fact, are expected to replace Los Blancos in the race soon.
The primary reason behind the club’s fizzled interest is Mastantuono’s inflated release clause which stands at €41.5 million, a sum the club offices deem too high for the player.
Moreover, the club already have significant resources in the same position.
So far this season, the 17-year-old Argentine prodigy has scored one goal and provided three assists for River Plate in the Liga Profesional de Futbol and also averages 1.2 key passes per game.
