However, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season and no new offer on the table yet, it seems more likely that the club captain will leave than stay for another season.

The journalist mentions that Real Madrid are expected to sit down with the player soon to discuss his options.

While the club respects Vazquez’s opinion—he is, after all, a long-serving figure and one of the captains—they are also planning ahead.
