La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to beat out competition from arch rivals Barcelona in efforts to land one of Spanish football’s most sought-after young talents.

That’s according to Marca, who have confirmed that Real look all set to strike a deal for Aliaksei Mayorau.

Mayorau, for his part, is a 12-year-old Belarusian attacker, who has long been catching the eye of clubs across all of Europe owing to his exploits with Cerdanyola.

Despite his tender years, Mayorau is considered a potential star in the making, with his touch, quick feet, explosive pace, eye for goal and intelligence all of a remarkable standard for a player so young.

The two clubs leading the race for his signature have for some time come in the form of Clásico rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The former, it is understood, even went as far as to invite Mayorau to Montjuïc, to watch one of the club’s first-team fixtures.

The Blaugrana’s efforts, however, look set to be in vain.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Marca that ‘the decision has already been made’ – the young attacker will put pen to paper on terms with Real Madrid.

Barca, and all other interested parties, have in turn been made aware that Mayorau’s future lies in the Spanish capital.
