As has already been reported, Real Madrid are targeting the signing of a young centre-back for the summer of 2025 after missing out on Leny Yoro this year.

Vitor Reis of Palmeiras has emerged as one of the options that Real Madrid are taking a close look at, with the 18-year-old Brazilian central defensive talent making a big impression in the nascent stages of his career.

Real Madrid, Arsenal lodge enquiries

Now, Mario Cortegana of The Athletic reports that Real Madrid have already lodged initial enquiries with Palmeiras for Vitor Reis, but are not alone as Arsenal, too, have asked about the teenager.

As per the report, a host of top clubs across Europe have shown an interest in the 18-year-old defender.

But it is only Real Madrid and Arsenal who have made enquiries about his availability with both Palmeiras as well as his representatives.

There have been no formal approaches made yet for the defender, who recently renewed his contract with Palmeiras until 2028, with the deal containing a mammoth €100 million release clause.

Palmeiras, for their part, have not set an asking price for their prized jewel at this point. Their idea is to keep hold of the 18-year-old at least until the Club World Cup in 2025.

Reis, who has made 15 senior appearances for Palmeiras, has been likened to PSG defender Marquinhos and Real Madrid’s very own Eder Militao due to the characteristics of his game.

With clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Barcelona also said to be interested, it will not be an easy path for Real Madrid to sign Reis.
