A recent report from SPORT has revealed that Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has captured the attention of both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The young 22-year-old Brazilian is currently in his second Premier League season and is turning heads across Europe with his impressive performances.
The outlet mentions that top clubs are already closely monitoring Murillo, who was a subject of interest for Chelse and Juventus last summer.
Interestingly, Nottingham Forest’s owner did not shut down the idea of a significant transfer if the right offer arrived. Now, it seems that Real Madrid are eyeing Murillo as a potential solution to their defensive issues.
Real Madrid’s defensive line has faced serious setbacks recently, notably with Eder Militao’s unfortunate cruciate ligament injury. This leaves the team in urgent need of reinforcements.

Real Madrid’s interest has also extended to other young prospects like 18-year-old Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, but with a pressing need for a reliable defender who can deliver immediate results, Real Madrid might prioritise a more experienced player.
Murillo seems to meet this requirement, with his Premier League performances already showing his ability to hold his own against tough opponents. His physical style, quick adaptability, and positioning make him a solid candidate for Madrid’s defensive line.
Still, there is speculation over whether his Brazilian nationality could influence the decision, especially as Real Madrid balance a squad of both emerging South American talents and established stars.
Whether Real Madrid decide to pursue Murillo in the upcoming winter transfer window remains to be seen. However, his abilities and profile certainly align with Madrid’s current needs, and a move could prove crucial in solidifying their defensive structure for the remainder of the season.
