According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Aït-Nouri has left the Algerian national team today in order to complete his medical and transfer to Manchester City. Romano reports that Aït-Nouri is set to join the Citizens for a transfer fee close to €40m. Meanwhile, L’Équipe report that Aït-Nouri will miss Thursday’s Algeria friendly against Rwanda. He will instead travel to Paris on Friday, then immediately head to Manchester to finalise the final steps of the deal. The transfer fee is expected to be around €50m, including bonuses – with a base fee between €30m and €40m.Aït-Nouri began his professional career at Angers SCO, who are set to receive a significant windfall thanks to a 50% sell-on clause – capped at €11.5m – from his 2020 move to Wolves. Originally signed on loan, he joined the Premier League side permanently for €11.5m, and has since developed into one of the division’s most exciting full-backs.GFFN | George Boxall
