Giacomo Raspadori admits ‘some goals are particularly important, because you can see the work that was behind them’ after a potential Scudetto-winning free kick routine let Napoli beat Lecce.
This was another massive step towards the fourth Scudetto in the club’s history, what would be their second in three years.
It was a training ground routine that proved decisive at the Stadio Via del Mare, with Scott McTominay initially hovering over the free kick, then running to the end of the Lecce wall and ducking to let Raspadori’s shot through, therefore blocking the vision of goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
“There are some goals that are particularly important, because you can see the work that was behind them,” Raspadori told DAZN.

“We had some difficulties today, we didn’t do everything that we had prepared, but the important thing was to get the victory.
“Although I hadn’t practiced that free kick this week, we’d tried it many times in the past. Training is the basis for everything you see on the field.”

The result means Napoli need only seven points from the remaining three Serie A rounds to mathematically guarantee the Scudetto, regardless of the results achieved by Inter.
“We are building the title a little bit at a time and the improvement has been constant. We have one more little step to take, one game at a time,” added Raspadori.
Those final three fixtures for Napoli will be at home to Genoa, away to Parma and then hosting Cagliari on May 25.
Inter are in action this evening against Hellas Verona at San Siro, having made 10 changes from the side that drew 3-3 with Barcelona midweek in the Champions League semi-final.
