Rasmus Kristensen discusses importance of Mourinho’s trust after late winner vs Sassuolo | OneFootball

Roma defender Rasmus Kristensen was the hero in tonight’s late comeback win over Sassuolo.

The Danish fullback came on in the second half, scoring a vital winning goal at the 82nd minute.

In his post-match reaction, Kristensen thanked Roma boss Jose Mourinho for his trust and confidence.

“I am very happy that I was able to help the team,” Kristensen told Roma TV at full-time. “These are three very important points to stay between fourth and fifth place. After the goal we conceded early on, we fought a lot and until the end. Tonight’s win is super important.”

“Mourinho? He just told me that I should come in bringing energy, fighting in the box and to believe in myself. He just told me to play forward and be aggressive to create some danger and that’s what I tried to do.”

Tiago Pinto had confidence in me right from the start but sometimes I played well, other times less so. It wasn’t easy to adapt to a new country with a new culture and a new language but I’m very happy in Rome.
