It seemed likely that Rasmus Hojlund would be heading to Inter Milan from Manchester United, if one strictly went by recent reports.

But the Dane has other suitors, with CaughtOffside now claiming Serie A champions Napoli also have him on their list as Antonio Conte hunts for a reliable striker.

The Naples outfit had left the race as per Italian media, but it seems the 22-year-old still has his admirers at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

“Napoli are actively searching for a striker. Over a month ago, we reported their strong interest in Darwin Nunez, who is set to leave Liverpool. For now, the striker has turned down offers from Saudi clubs.

Napoli back in for Rasmus Hojlund

“In addition to Nunez, Napoli are also following Lorenzo Lucca, who is attracting interest from several Serie A clubs, and Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, who is also on Inter’s radar,” journalist Alfredo Pedulla revealed.

The Denmark international could be about to reunite with former United teammate Scott McTominay, who has been a revelation since his switch.

The report does not mention the type of arrangement Napoli are looking for, with United preferring a permanent exit, as they have relayed to the Nerazzurri.

Whether the Serie A champions can cough up the €40-€45 million being demanded by INEOS remains to be seen. A bidding war would suit INEOS perfectly at this stage.

There were talks of a potential player swap deal involving Victor Osimhen heading to Old Trafford but that trail has gone cold as of now. Whether that deal can be re-activated remains to be seen.

Will he leave on loan or permanently?

A straight loan exit is unlikely to be accepted, with United pushing for an obligation to buy at the end of a loan deal, not even an option.

The Peoples Person have relayed that United are even open to keeping the out-of-form striker at the club, given they have failed to land a striker up till now.

Rasmus Hojlund endured a miserable last season, netting only four times in the Premier League, while his overall play was also heavily criticised.

A move back to Italy, where he has flourished during his Atalanta days, could help him regain confidence, which explains the interest from both Inter and now, Napoli.
