In a surprising turn of events this evening, Victor Osimhen’s camp has seemingly confirmed the player’s desire to join Manchester United.

It comes after reports of the forward being utilised in a Marcus Rashford swap deal gained momentum earlier today, with United’s No.10 currently preparing to sit out of his sixth straight game after being cast aside by Ruben Amorim.

Now, an outlet from Osimhen’s native Nigeria has claimed the prolific goalscorer is eyeing up a switch to Old Trafford, saying (via The Papers): “Victor will move, he may wear the red colours in England, there are moves already, and it is what he wants.”

For any potential deal to materialise, his parent club, Napoli, will have to terminate his loan with Galatasaray mid-season. The 26-year-old has notched 12 goals and five assists in only 15 appearances since 2024/2025 got underway, leading to him being hailed as ‘the best striker in Turkey’.

His widely-covered transfer debacle in Naples over the summer culminated with Osimhen being stripped of his shirt number by Antonio Conte before completing a late move to the Super Lig outfit after a Saudi Pro League switch collapsed.

The ex-Lille frontman is contracted to Napoli until 2026, while Rashford is tied to United until 2028. He has found the back of the net eight times this term but may have already played his final game for his boyhood club if he departs for Italy before the window closes on February 3.

Rashford joined the Reds’ academy setup aged seven. He made his debut in a Europa League clash in 2016 and scored twice against FC Midtjylland, at the time becoming the side’s youngest-ever ‘scorer in a European competition since George Best.
