Arsenal have had some brilliant home shirts in the Premier League era – but which has been their best one of all?

We’ve ranked each and every home shirt Arsenal have worn in the Premier League to date.

We’ll put in a disclaimer that everyone’s entitled to their opinion and this is just our entirely subjective ranking of their best Premier League home shirts. But if you do feel we’ve got anything egregiously wrong, tweet us at @planetfutebol.

20. 2018-19

One of four kits released since we first took a vote on this, it went down like a lead balloon. It actually looks great on Alexandre Lacazette here, but let’s face it, anything would.

The first of Puma’s largely identikit designs to make this list. The slight tweak on this one comes in the form of the central stripe, but we don’t like it.

18. 2014-15

Puma’s first Arsenal kit was launched with the slogan #strongertogether, which we thought was actually from a General Election campaign.

17. 1994-96

We actually really like this, but nobody else seemed to when we were taking votes. It probably would have been much higher if all the players had worn it like Tony Adams and Ian Wright.

16. 1992-94

The final Arsenal shirt without a collar until 2002. Wearing the shirt, Arsenal won an FA and League Cup Double, and Paul Merson looks like he enjoyed himself, which is good enough for us.

15. 2015-16

We’re putting this higher than the other two Puma kits almost purely because of the collar.

For some reason this just makes us think of Denilson. Make of that what you will.

While Arsenal switched sponsors between the two seasons from JVC to Dreamcast, the design remained the same.

It’s not bad – it’s very 90s – but perhaps suffers from being worn during two campaigns in which the Gunners were left in Manchester United’s shadow.

The first home kit of the Emirates era. We’re fans of the gold piping on the side.

11. 2010-11

All that tended to change between 2010 and 2014 was the colour of the trim on the collar and sleeve. This edition goes rogue with a white-trimmed collar and red-trimmed sleeve. Saucy.

This was another kit you didn’t get the chance to vote for when we initially held the poll, but it’s got a nice collar so immediately won us over.

A perfectly nice, if a little generic, Adidas number. A shirt that will be associated with hope and optimism returning to Arsenal, so bonus points for that.

We thought this was pretty standard fare: no trim, round-neck collar etc. Then we noticed just how big that badge is and couldn’t quite take our eyes off it.

9. 2022-23

True to form these days, Arsenal released their latest effort alongside a lovely, lovely video. We’re not totally sold on that collar but it’s a solid effort.

Bonus points for it being worn during an exceptional campaign. Sorry if we jinxed it, Arsenal fans.

8. 2004-05

The shirt worn by Patrick Vieira as he won Arsenal the FA Cup with his final kick for the club. Very similar to the Invincibles’ shirt but with a slight v-neck and added yellow.

7. 2000-02

The final Dreamcast shirt stayed true to its predecessors, with the only changes being a red collar and blue stripes down the sleeves.

In 2001-02, it also brought with it a league and FA Cup Double, which certainly helps breed a bit of fondness.

6. 2019-20

Adidas really did a very good job with their 19-20 kits. The away kit was even nicer than this one.

5. 2020-21

Arsenal won the FA Cup in this one, which does it a lot of favours.

Let’s ignore the fact that in the full season of wearing it, they finished eighth – their lowest finish since 1994-95. Nice kit though, eh?

4. 2012-14

The final Nike shirt and the strip in which Arsenal ended their trophy drought with triumph in the 2014 FA Cup.

Santi Cazorla looks excellent in it, we’re sure you’ll agree.

3. 2002-04

The shirt of the Invincibles. Very simple, very effective, very iconic – with a new badge to boot.

2. 1996-98

The arrival of Arsene Wenger, Dennis Bergkamp hitting his straps, Arsenal winning the Double – a shirt for happy times.
