Claudio Ranieri was asked about Eldor Shomurodov’s rise in the wake of Artem Dovbyk’s muscle injury.
The Uzbek striker surprised everyone by becoming a reliable option off the bench despite having been continuously linked with an exit from the capital in January.
After the win against Monza, in which Shomurodov scored the team’s second goal, Ranieri was asked about whether he now considers him to be the starting attacker.
“I have never had any negative thoughts about letting any of these guys play. Each of them wants to participate,” he replied.
“Making choices is difficult, but if I make a mistake, I only make a small mistake because everyone trains well,” he added.
“The performance depends on the man and his will. Here everyone trains and gives 100%, always.”
