There has been growing speculation surrounding the future of one of Rangers’ brightest attacking assets, and as with all transfer windows there is a swirl of chatter mixed with fact and rumour. Supporters are understandably curious about where certain players may end up and what it means for the overall project at Ibrox. In the case of Hamza Igamane the whispers are becoming louder and more specific suggesting a definitive move could be on the cards. While much of it remains unconfirmed the latest reports certainly hint at more than just idle gossip.

It has emerged from reliable Rangers sources including Chris Jack that Hamza Igamane’s camp has held talks with Lille with a view to securing a transfer. The suggestion is that those discussions were positive and that the French side are seriously keen on taking the player to Ligue 1. According to Ibrox Noise Rangers are fully aware of the developments and are preparing accordingly. The idea of a £20M price tag being placed on Igamane reinforces just how much value the club see in him and how seriously any potential suitors must treat the situation.

There is no question Rangers fans will be disappointed at the prospect of losing such a dynamic forward but equally this could be a major coup in terms of financial return. The club are not in a position to ignore offers of this scale if it allows them to reinvest in key areas. Ibrox Noise have been monitoring the situation closely and believe that Lille have agreed terms with the player which suggests movement is very likely in the coming days.

Another key detail to emerge is that Chris Jack has confirmed the player’s entourage has opened dialogue with the Ligue 1 outfit and he is now considered likely to leave Rangers this summer. Ibrox Noise noted that English and continental sides are also watching developments and could still step in. For now however Lille appear to be in pole position and unless a late hijack takes place Rangers will begin life without Hamza sooner rather than later. The fee will be important but so too will be the replacement and where the funds are spent.
