Rangers Management Hunt Down to Three Men

Artikelbild:Rangers Management Hunt Down to Three Men

It appears that there are fundamentally three candidates now for the Rangers manager position. Those candidates are Russell Martin, Steven Gerrard, and Davide Ancelotti.

Gerrard, of course, we all know, that being the former Rangers manager himself. Martin, we also know, because he used to play for us. Well, play in the most loose terms possible. And those were during days when we really weren’t in the good place that we are now (!)Gerrard, of course, we already know, him being a former Rangers manager and winning 55. Martin, we also know, him being a former ‘player’, loosely termed, and having been here for about three minutes in the distant past and being rather abysmal when he was here. That was a time when Rangers weren’t in the strong, powerful position we currently are (!)

But lastly is Davide Ancelotti. He has been on the horizon for a week or two now, and fans were alerted to the sudden interest in the former Real Madrid assistant very, very much out of the blue.

The Ancelotti interest hasn’t entirely faded. Spanish well-known journalist, Guillem Balagueux, offered his take, claiming that Rangers had, in fact, whittled the choice down to Gerrard or Ancelotti. Martin is clearly still in the mix, however. And it does seem like the shortlist is indeed those three.

Who would we pick? Absolutely no idea. We were thoroughly behind Clement, we were thoroughly behind Beale, and we did love Geo as well, even if that one did actually in strong part work out. But nevertheless, our choice and judgement on Rangers’ managers leaves about as much to be desired as Rangers’ boards do.So who do we want? We wouldn’t even have a clue where to begin on Ibrox Noise. Our taste in managers has been hit and miss to say the least. The only one we were ever truly set against was Pedro, and that was an obviously bad choice. We’re not going to hold our hands up and claim that we have the right answers any more than the board does. If it’s down to Angelotti, Gerrard, or Martin, well, we wouldn’t even guess who would be best out of that lot. At the end of the day, we will get who we get.
