Rangers suffer yet another small shambles as they lose out on a world-class right back for free. The club made no attempt whatsoever to bring back Nathan Patterson, who has now joined Sevilla on loan from Everton. This is a £20m right back, a Scotland international, and a player we know from experience is top quality when fit and in form.

The failure to act on Patterson is damning. Not only would he have been a huge boost to the squad, but his home-grown status would have strengthened Rangers’ European registration. Instead, the club once again sleepwalked into a missed opportunity. This is one of our own, a talent who could have ticked every box. And yet, Rangers stood still.

This is what happens when mismanagement festers. The leadership of the club has consistently failed to get the right players, make the right appointments, or even take basic steps to ensure Rangers are competitive on and off the pitch. The Patterson saga is just the latest example of a deeper problem that stretches across every level.

And it does not stop there. Lawrence Shankland remains another glaring issue we will come back to, but Patterson highlights the theme perfectly. A brilliant player available for nothing, Rangers in desperate need of quality and depth, and yet nothing done. For a club with our history, it is unforgivable.

We admit, we may sound like we are simply moaning. But this is not empty complaining. The support has raised its voice after being let down too many times.. A month ago, many of you still wanted to give Russell Martin and this board the benefit of the doubt. We respected that. But now the mood has shifted. Now the majority see what we have been warning about for months.

This club is being hammered from within by its own decision makers. It is a nightmare scenario, and Rangers fans deserve far better. Patterson could have lifted spirits, given the squad strength, and offered genuine quality in a problem position. Instead, he is in Spain, and we face nothing but the mess we created ourselves..
