AC Milan will make some important decisions in the next few days and weeks regarding their future course, and two names stand out in terms of arrivals.
Quotidiano Sportivo write about how Milan’s future passes through London to Italy via the United States. The club’s leadership are busy trying to make the right calls to relaunch the team after what has so far been a very difficult campaign.
The front page has a section dedicated to the Rossoneri, titled: ‘The new Milan is banking on the Tare-Allegri axis. The former Lazio sporting director is Furlani’s choice. A sensational return is looming on the bench’.
Igli Tare was among the trio of candidates who flew to London for the first casting held by Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Andrea Berta was in the running but promised himself to Arsenal, while Fabio Paratici was in talks that ultimately collapsed.
Now, Tare seems to be the man leading the charge. After the trip to the United States for commercial commitments, the CEO Giorgio Furlani has a meeting with the Albanian on his agende. He is a strong candidate also due to the time pressure.
The other names appreciated are all under contract: Giovanni Sartori (who recently renewed with Bologna until June 2027), Tony D’Amico (same expiry with Atalanta) and Giovanni Manna (tied to Napoli until 2029).

For Tare, it would be a bit of a throwback. In 2019 he had been close to becoming a director at Milan, after a conversation with Paolo Maldini. Claudio Lotito blocked it, and thus he remained at Lazio where he spent 15 yards from 2008 to 2023, winning six trophies.
In addition to the choice of the new coach – with Max Allegri among the hottest candidates – there are several ‘hot potatoes’ that the future director will have to deal with. The renewals of Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez must be tackled, plus Tammy Abraham’s future.
In the meantime, today the team is back on the field at Milanello. The focus is on Sunday’s match at San Siro against Atalanta and the return derby in the Coppa Italia next Wednesday. Maignan will be re-evaluated, following the head injury he suffered on Friday in Udine.
