PSV’s Joey Veerman named Eredivisie Player of the Month for August | OneFootball

Joey Veerman has received the Eredivisie Player of the Month award following a spectacular start to the season with PSV Eindhoven. The 25-year-old central midfielder has featured in all four league games so far this season, scoring one goal and providing four assists. The 16-time Netherlands international topped August’s ranking based on a combination of Opta statistics and fan votes.

PSV have experienced a perfect start to the new season. The champions kicked off the campaign with a 5-1 win over Waalwijk, followed by a 3-1 win over Heracles, 7-1 win over Almere and a 3-0 thrashing against Go Ahead Eagles. This weekend they’ll be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table with a victory over NEC Nijmegen.

Joey Veerman has already claimed two Man of the Match awards this season, and now takes home the first Play of the Month award this season. The former Heerenveen and FC Volendam man sits joint-top of the table for most goal contributions this season (5) and he’s created more chances than anyone else (16).
