PSG vs Inter Miami - LIVE!
Action from the last-16 stage of the Club World Cup continues today as Paris Saint-Germain face Inter Miami in Atlanta. The recently crowned champions of Europe topped Group B despite suffering a shock loss to Botafogo and are heavy favourites to set up a quarter-final tie against either Flamengo or Bayern Munich.
However, the Herons have been the surprise package of the tournament thus far. Lead by Lionel Messi, the MLS side were not expected to emerge from a group containing Palmeiras, Porto and Al Ahly, but they qualified without losing a single game and were it not for the concession of two late goals against the Brazilian outfit they would have topped the table and avoided this showdown.
An interesting sub-plot to today’s fixture is Messi facing his former club for the first time since his “unhappy” spell with PSG came to an end two years ago. Can the Argentine inspire Inter Miami once again or will the Ligue 1 giants continue their quest to be crowned world champions? Follow the game LIVE below with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog!
