PSG rule out loan exit for key Barcelona target, want €60 million for sale | OneFootball

Xavi Simons has emerged as one of Barcelona’s top targets for the upcoming summer transfer window, especially given his link with La Masia.

A Barcelona player not too long ago, the youngster decided to leave the club for PSG after not being assured minutes with the first team.

The Dutch winger is now willing to push for a return after a stellar loan spell at RB Leipzig, but the move is complicated.

PSG playing it hard

According to a recent update from SPORT, PSG have no intention of making Simons’ return home easy.

For starters, the team is looking towards a massive rebuild this summer with Kylian Mbappe’s departure all but confirmed, and they see the Dutchman as a decent option to take over in attack.

Should they choose to sell the player, they will only accept offers for a permanent sale. They refuse to accept Barcelona’s one-year loan idea and demand at least €60 million for his signing.

Player’s mind fixed

The report adds that Simons has his mind set on a move to Barcelona as he deeply desires to return home.

His move to Catalonia, thus depends on the pressure he can generate on the Parisiens, especially given the complicated relationship between PSG and Barcelona.

Simons, however, is aware that he is contractually obligated to the French club and will thus listen to their decision should he be forced to.

After all, PSG will likely receive multiple offers for the player this summer after his successful season and the European Championships coming ahead.

Having scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in the Bundesliga alone this season, after all, €60 million is not a figure clubs will hesitate to shell out.

A move on loan, at the moment, appears complicated. A special clause in his contract could be the only way for Barcelona to stand a chance.
