On Tuesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a 1-0 defeat (2-0 on aggregate) against Borussia Dortmund, marking the end of their UEFA Champions League journey as they crashed in the semifinals.

In the match, the Parisians attempted a total of 30 shots, but only five found their mark, with an additional four hitting the woodwork. Luck wasn’t on their side as they struggled to find the net in Tuesday night’s game.

Meanwhile, Dortmund managed to secure a goal from Mats Hummels in the 50th minute, giving them the edge they needed. Following the elimination, PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke to reporters and vented his emotions regarding how unlucky the capital club was in the second-leg loss.

“The feeling is sadness,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “It can’t be otherwise. We weren’t inferior in those two matches. We hit the post six times; we shot 31 times today and didn’t score.

“Football is curious like that; it rewards the one who scores, not the one who hits the post. Congratulations to the team going to the final. I need to let this emptiness I feel pass and try to bounce back to play against Toulouse on Sunday.”

The loss also marks the end of an era in the French capital. Kylian Mbappé might have just played his last Champions League game for PSG as many reports suggest he’s heading to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
