After Kylian Mbappé last week announced that he would not renew his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday night's clash against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes was the last time the Frenchman donned the Rouge et Bleu shirt in Paris.
The Boy from the Paris suburbs of Bondy was given a tribute by PSG's Collectif Ultras Paris, who unveiled a giant tifo of Mbappé during the warm-up. The former AS Monaco striker interrupted his preparations for the match to greet PSG's supporters in the Auteuil stand behind the goal.
A giant message was displayed from PSG fans: "A child of the Paris suburbs, you have become a legend of PSG" just before the giant tifo image of Kylian Mbappé was deployed - to a smiling Mbappé below at the foot of the stand.
Mbappé gives the Parc a parting gift
Indeed, it was Mbappé who managed to get on the scoresheet on his final game at the Parc, touching down delightfully a long-ball from Arnaud Tenas and skipping past Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes; finishing deftly into the back of the net and wheeling away in celebration.
Following the match ensued the Ligue 1 trophy ceremony, where departing iconic PSG speaker Michel Montana gave a short homage to Mbappé before the players lifted the hexagonal trophy for a 12th time in Parisien history. Mbappé then spent the rest of the evening with family and friends on the pitch, savouring the final moments on home soil.
