According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain could be facing a potential ban on signing players if they refuse to pay Kylian Mbappé (25) €55m in unpaid wages and bonuses. Following legal proceedings, the LFP ruled that the Ligue 1 champions must settle the sum owed to the Real Madrid attacker.

If Les Parisiens do not pay the €55m to their former player, the France captain could appeal once again to the LFP legal committee. PSG have been “ordered” by the committee to pay the agreed sum demanded by Mbappé within eight days. Les Parisiens are within their right to appeal the decision made by the committee within 7 days but sources close to the club contacted by L’Équipe have indicated that they do not intend to do this.

LFP cannot force PSG to pay the sum. Nevertheless, they can sanction the French capital club if they do not agree to settle the unpaid wages and bonuses. This could be in the form of a transfer ban which would prevent new players arriving at the Parc des Princes. If Mbappé is not paid by PSG, he will have to go to an employment tribunal to receive the funds.
