PSG drop interest in Lucas Chevalier in favour of retaining Gianluigi Donnarumma | OneFootball

According to Le Parisien, no discussions have taken place between PSG and Lucas Chevalier (23) over a potential move in the summer transfer window for several weeks. This is because of the performances of Gianluigi Donnarumma (26) in recent weeks.

The Ligue 1 champions had identified the Lille stopper as a target for the summer transfer window after doubts were cast around the long-term future of the Italian international goalkeeper at the Parc des Princes. However, after impressive performances in the UEFA Champions League against Arsenal and Aston Villa, the opinion of those at Les Parisiens on Donnarumma has improved and interest in Chevalier has lessened.

It is not just those in the boardroom at PSG that have faith in the former AC Milan goalkeeper. Le Parisien reports that his PSG teammates adore him and believe he is a player that they can trust between the sticks. Donnarumma’s contract with Les Parisiens is set to expire at the end of next season.
