Chelsea struggling to a 1-0 home win over Everton in the early Saturday kick-off.

Then Newcastle United dominating Ipswich and eventually winning 3-0 at St James’ Park.

Three of the rivals for Premier League top four (and Champions League qualification) were instead in FA Cup semi-final action at Wembley, Palace hammering Villa 3-0 and Forest losing 2-0 to Man City.

The bookies and punters reacting to how things now stand in the Premier League table (see below), as well of course, how they are now seeing the underlying strengths of the various teams and squads.

The weekend saw Liverpool crowned as title winners, whilst the relegation picture was also completed, Newcastle’s victory meaning Ipswich join Leicester and Southampton in the Championship next season.

Listed below are the general Premier League odds now (morning of 28 April 2025) available from the various bookies for the 2024/25 season

This is how the Premier League table looks today (Monday 28 April 2025):

Bookies odds to finish Premier League top four:

Liverpool now guaranteed top four

1/250 Arsenal

1/4 Man City

5/6 Newcastle United

5/4 Forest

25/1 Villa

Can Newcastle United bounce back into the Premier League top four and get Champions League football?

Well with four games left for Eddie Howe’s side, the bookies now have NUFC slight odds on (5/6) to finish top four, with Liverpool already of course guaranteed and both Arsenal and Man City also predicted by the bookies and punters to end up in the top four.

Of course, with it now top five guaranteed Champions League football, United are seen as even shorter favourites to end up PL top five, though that betting market (to finish top five) not made available by the vast majority of bookies.

However, there are odds available from all of the bookies on whether your club will finish Premier League top six, which would guarantee at least Europa League football:

Liverpool now guaranteed top six

No offers on Arsenal as they are all but mathematically guaranteed top six

1/33 Man City

1/20 Newcastle United

1/12 Forest

1/8 Chelsea

13/8 Villa

250/1 Brighton

So the odds of Newcastle United finishing in the top five, will effectively now be somewhere between the 5/6 on ending up top four and the 1/20 on finishing in the top six.
