What lessons need to be learned from last season?

We need to improve our defence and goalkeeping from last season, and I think we will.

What’s your view on the manager?

It’s of course a very risky appointment but after couple videos from the training, interviews and the first preseason matches, I’m starting to think that appointing Keith Andrews was a good choice from the club.

What’s your verdict on your summer transfer window so far?

We were really busy at the start of the window but we haven’t signed our Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa replacements yet, so it’s hard to say right now.

But I think we’ve done decent business with the other signings like Antoni Milambo and Michael Kayode. plus the more experienced Jordan Henderson. Signing Caoimhín Kelleher to replace Mark Flekken is upgrade also.

One player to watch from your club this season

Probably Fabio Carvalho. He did okay last season in some matches but people don’t rate him highly because he has played for Fulham and his family have negatively commented on Brentford’s posts. I think he will be brilliant this season.

The most underrated player at your club is…

Nathan Collins or Mikkel Damsgaard.

The game you’re most looking forward to this season is…

I’m most looking forward to our season opener vs Nottingham Forest and Sunderland away in the third fixture.

What opposition player do you secretly admire

I think Bryan Mbeumo will be one after his transfer to Manchester United.

This season your team will finish…

Right now it’s hard to predict but I’m thinking about lower mid-table. It would be ideal to try to get close to last season’s top 10 finish but we won’t be anywhere near relegation.

People saying Brentford are getting relegated once again is funny. I’ve seen it many times since going up. 13th.
