As previously stated, Nottingham Forest bounced back from their hammering at the hands of Bournemouth in truly stunning fashion.
They took seven off Brighton without reply and although Chris Wood took home the match ball with a hat-trick, it was his attacking colleague Elanga who was truly the star of the show.
He claimed his own hat-trick, setting up team-mates for three of Forest's goals with devastating deliveries that the Seagulls simply had no answer to.
An inviting corner first set up Morgan Gibbs-White before setting up Wood for his first two goals to take his goal involvements for the club to 25 since leaving Manchester United for the City Ground.
In fact, since the start of last season, only Mo Salah, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer have contributed more Premier League assists than Elanga. Not bad company to be in at all.
It was only the second time this season that someone set up three goals in a single game, with Palmer the only other player to do so.
His latest showing was the kind of electric performance that Forest fans have become accustomed to from the 22-year-old, whose speed of feet and thought bamboozled Brighton all afternoon.
In addition, his partnership with Wood in particular is proving extremely fruitful.
Of the New Zealander's 17 goals this season, Elanga has assisted 10 of them. Nobody has set up a specific team-mate more since the opening of the 2023/24 campaign.
It is time to start taking notice of the Swede. Certainly in the eyes of his captain.
"He's absolutely amazing. He's so fast so you just know you can find him in space every time. He'll probably reach the ball," Gibbs-White told TNT Sports after Elanga's weekend heroics.
"This season he has worked really hard and has been absolutely amazing. I think he deserves more recognition. He works so hard both on and off the field."
Is he deserving of more praise than he has gotten? With performances like this, his flowers won't be long in coming.
