According to Fabrizio Romano, Lille OSC’s Bafodé Diakité (23) is being monitored by multiple clubs across the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
Diakité has shown his flexibility for Paulo Fonseca’s dynamic side in recent months where he has been deployed as a centre-back, as well as his in his more familiar position as a right-sided full-back.
Six goals across all competitions (with one coming in the European quarter-final against Aston Villa) is a strong return for a player who has not only been played in a deeper position but also a player who has missed a significant chunk of the season due to long-standing injury concerns
However, despite the outside interest, Lille will hold the cards this summer as Diakité is under contract until 2026, and they will be well aware that they may have to rely on the defender as a centre-back more regularly with Leny Yoro (18) set to leave.
