AC Milan was held to a 0-0 draw by Genoa on matchday 16 of Serie A 2024/2025, on the eve of the 125th anniversary of the Club. The match was hard-fought, with both teams striving to gain the upper hand but unable to find the back of the net. The Rossoneri, arriving from a Champions League victory against Crvena zvezda, couldn't capitalise on their chances, while Genoa continued their unbeaten record away from home for the third game. This draw leaves AC Milan in 8th place on 23 points, while Genoa sits in 13th on 16 points.
AC Milan showed determination and teamwork but struggled to convert their opportunities into a goal. Coach Fonseca fielded a 4-2-3-1 formation with a debut from Liberali and Jiménez starting too. The Rossoneri couldn't break through the opposition defence despite dominating possession and creating numerous offensive incursions. The second-half substitutions of Morata, who hit the bar at 76', and Camarda brought fresh energy but not the desired goal. The defence held firm, keeping a clean sheet for the sixth time at home this season. Despite the disappointing result, AC Milan demonstrated defensive solidity and resilience. The team have the quality, the potential and the support to improve and climb in the standings. Forza Milan!
