Carabao Cup Final tickets and Newcastle United fans, the haves and the have nots.
Demand ‘slightly’ exceeding supply.
Just how many Carabao Cup Final tickets could we sell?
Enough to fill Wembley entirely, not just once, but five, ten times, who knows?
It has been quite awkward for ourselves here at The Mag HQ in the build up to this Cup Final.
The number of people getting in touch asking for help to get Carabao Cup Final tickets.
Dozens and dozens of Newcastle United fans all desperate to be inside Wembley and getting in touch with us here at The Mag to ask for our help.
We’d like nothing better than to be able to help these Newcastle United fans but we don’t even have the time to reply to them personally, we have had so many getting in touch.
We are guessing that the vast majority of them simply have no comprehension of just how difficult it is to get tickets these days for any Newcastle United match, least of all a Cup Final!
We think many people, including many Newcastle United fans, simply have no idea just how big the NUFC fanbase is.
Our contacts at Wembley tell us that this Sunday’s Cup Final has seen the biggest demand for tickets ever for any FA Cup or League Cup Final, including/especially for the neutral tickets that cost a large/huge premium.
This Sunday’s Cup Final having the biggest demand for tickets since…2023. Yes the Man U v Newcastle United one.
Two years ago we looked at the reselling rip-off sites and tickets in the Newcastle United end were going for around twice as much in the Man U end.
This time it is the same story, reselling tickets seeing Newcastle United fans having to pay around twice as much as Liverpool fans for tickets in their end.
A bit of a recurring theme, demand and supply. The biggest demand coming from Newcastle United fans.
As an aside, this is yet another reason why the new Newcastle United stadium has to be as big as possible when it is eventually built, the number of Newcastle United fans wanting to watch their team is far far higher than what even many of our own NUFC supporters believe it is.
Filling a 52,000+ St James’ Park every match in the Championship eight years ago, even though Mike Ashley was still in control, just because Rafa gave us a little hope by signing a three year contract.
Just imagine what the demand would be if Newcastle United were ever successful…?
Back to the present day and Carabao Cup Final tickets.
All the emails and phone messages that have been left, apologies that we simply don’t have time to reply to you all.
It is gutting to hear all of your stories of following Newcastle United and why you are so desperate to get a ticket and what you are prepared to do, additional donations to charity and so on, if we can help you out.
Sadly, the reality is that here at The Mag we know hundreds of people personally, who are all desperate for Carabao Cup Final tickets, as well as of course knowing many others who have got lucky, almost all of them qualifying via their season tickets AND going to the other Carabao Cup matches this season.
Anyway, here’s praying (even if you don’t believe in any God!) for that win on Sunday and bringing a trophy back to Tyneside, it has been a while.
