Paul Dummett has signed on for a new club.
The former Newcastle United defender joining Carlisle United.
An official announcement (see below) from the League Two club revealing the news.
Paul Dummett finds himself reunited with Carlisle United Head Coach Mike Williamson, the pair playing together previously at Newcastle United.
Carlisle are in a tough position, rock bottom of League Two and currently six points from safety. though they do have a game in hand on the two clubs above them.

‘Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Paul Dummett on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Dummett, 33, came through the ranks at Newcastle United. He secured his first professional loan in 2012, when he moved to Gateshead on a short-term deal, where he made 10 appearances.
Another loan followed, as Dummett went over the border with St Mirren. He made 19 appearances in his time there, scoring two goals.
He returned from his loan in January 2013, and made his first appearance for Newcastle on January 5th in an FA Cup tie against Brighton.
He then ended the season back on loan at St Mirren where he made a further 17 appearances. He also won the Scottish League Cup in his time with the Paisley club.
He returned to Newcastle in the summer of 2013. That season, he made his Premier League debut for the Toon in an away fixture against Manchester City in August.
Dummett then spent the majority of his career with The Magpies, he made 212 appearances, and scored four goals.
In 2016/17 he was an integral part of the side that won the Championship, where he was a near ever-present, making 45 appearances.
He scored three times in the Premier League, most notably with a thunderous strike against Manchester United in a 3-3 draw back in 2016.
Dummett left Newcastle at the end of last season. He made five appearances, and was on the bench throughout their Champions League campaign.
He then spent a short time with Wigan Athletic, making five appearances for the Latics after signing a short-term deal until January.
Dummett, although born in Newcastle, was eligible for Wales thanks to his Grandfather. He made his debut in June 2014, when he came on as a substitute against Netherlands. He went on to earn five caps for his country.
Head Coach, Mike Williamson said: “I played with Paul so he’s someone I know very well. He brings a lot of experience at a high level.
“I think he’ll be a really good influence on the changing room on and off the field. He’s got obvious quality from playing at the highest level, we’ve just got to make sure we get him up to speed.
“He’s fit in terms of being available, but he needs to work on his match fitness. It will take a bit of time to get fully up to speed, but he’s someone who will be a massive help for everyone in the situation we are in.”
