Sky Sport Italia claim that Parma are on the verge of securing Philadelphia Union full-back Kai Wagner in the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old left-back was born and raised in Germany, but first moved to the Philadelphia Union in February 2019.
He went on to amass 169 appearances in Major League Soccer, contributing five goals and a whopping 37 assists in that time.
Wagner’s contract with the American club runs to December 2026 and there is an option to extend for a further year, but he is widely expected to leave in January.

There has also been interest in Wagner from Coventry City and Burnley FC in England, but Parma would seem to be very close to signing the paperwork, according to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Ducali are in need of reinforcements after a difficult start to the season, having earned promotion from Serie B last summer.
They hope that Wagner can bring a more attacking bent to the left side of the defence for coach Fabio Pecchia.
