Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Paris FC have been offered striker Andi Zeqiri. The Swiss striker is not part of the plans going forward at Genk and as a result they are looking to move him on. After their promotion to Ligue 1, Paris FC have been looking to strengthen their squad. The 26-year-old forward and his team have been in contact with Paris FC but so far, as Tavolieri is reporting, nothing concrete has been agreed. Talks are ongoing.
The Swiss international could certainly be an asset to Paris FC following a decent spell on loan at Standard Liege last season. The goal shy Standard were reliant on Zeqiri and his 10 goals in 26 games as he was the only player to hit double figures. Zeqiri moved to Belgium from Brighton in 2023 after only making 13 appearances for the Premier League side. Zeqiri spent time on loan with Augsburg, were he only scored two goals in 23 games. During the 2022/2023 campaign he was loaned to FC Basel and had a fantastic campaign, with 18 goals in 50 games. During his first year with Genk he managed nine goals in 39 games but was not consdired as an option by head coach Thorsten Fink who preferred alternative forwards.
Standard would have probably liked to bring the forward back, but were unlikely to be able to afford him. Paris FC are in a better financial position to bring Zeqiri to Ligue 1.
