The Argentinian will join up with his squad at the end of the month when his PSV Eindhoven contract expires.

Benítez joins the Eagles to reinforce the team's depth for the number one position with Sam Johnstone leaving midway through the 2024/25 season and Matt Turner to return to his parent club Nottingham Forest.

During his 2024/25 campaign, Benítez played 34 games in the league while keeping nine clean sheets to help his side lift the Eredivisie.

"Walter is an excellent addition to our squad, bringing further quality, experience and competition to our goalkeeping department alongside Dean [Henderson] and Remi [Matthews]," Palace chairman Steve Parish said about the move.

"We look forward to welcoming Walter to South London next month as we continue our preparations towards what promises to be a busy season, competing on multiple fronts, in 2025/26."
