Outrage in Turin: Juventus Slam Racist Abuse Aimed at McKennie
Juventus've strongly condemned the racist insults directed at midfielder Weston McKennie following their 2 - 0 victory over Parma on Sunday in Serie A.
The incident occurred at the Allianz Stadium when McKennie who came on as substitute in the second half, stayed behind after the final whistle to complete extra training drills with fellow non starters.
During this session, individuals from the away section began shouting racist abuse at the American international.
In official statement posted on X, Juventus confirmed the abuse & issued firm condemnation:
"After the match against Parma, Weston McKennie was subjected to racist insults from individuals in the away section while training with teammates. Juventus strongly denounces this behavior and any form of racism. The club'll fully cooperate with the sporting authorities to identify those responsible"
Around 1000 Parma supporters attended the game with no ultras present as they boycotted the fixture in protest at ticket prices. The abuse came from members of the general away crowd according to reports.
