Earlier this week, Esteemed Kompany sources revealed that five Premier League clubs were interested in signing Oscar Bobb on loan for the 25/26 season. It would seem highly unlikely that Manchester City will allow Bobb to leave on loan. His homegrown status and the potential for Bobb to become an important part of Pep Guardiola’s squad make him too important for City to let go.
In a recent interview, Oscar Bobb has spoken of his desire to make an impact for his team next season. After an injury-ravaged 24/25 season, Oscar Bobb is determined to make up for lost time.
In an interview with Nettavisen, Oscar Bobb has spoken of his goal to become a first-team regular at Manchester City. Speaking on his goals for next season, Bobb said: “Everyone wants to play regularly every week. I wouldn’t have said I wanted to stay at Manchester City if I didn’t think it was possible.”
Oscar Bobb’s goal for next season is attainable. The Norwegian international has all of the talent and potential required to become a key player at Manchester City. There were glimpses of what Bobb is capable of shown throughout the 23/24 season. That was Bobb’s first season as a member of the City first team. The talent that saw him rise through Manchester City’s academy system was clear to see when Bobb made his breakthrough. He also plays a role where there could be a chance for him to play regularly next season. Bobb generally plays on the right wing, and he should be able to compete with Savinho, Bernardo Silva, and Phil Foden for that particular role.
But to fulfil his goal, Oscar Bobb needs to stay fit. His 24/25 season was lost to injury. That setback did basically cost Bobb an entire season of his young career. Perhaps the adversity Bobb faced can help him as a player. That may be a lesson for him to take from last season. The disappointment and frustration Bobb endured may spur him on to achiece his stated goal for next season.
Oscar Bobb has spelt out his aim for next season. He has the talent and determination to succeed in achieving that goal. The Norwegian international now has to stay fit and hopefully impress at the FIFA Club World Cup to set him up in becoming a first team regular for the 25/26 season and beyond.
