Wolves midfielder Boubacar Traoré (23) will spend the 2025-2026 campaign on loan at promoted Ligue 1 side FC Metz, both sides have announced. The 23-year-old Malian international returns to the Moselle side after featured 33 times with Les Grenats already. Traoré signed for Wolves initially on loan in 2022, and his move to Molineux was made permanent in 2023 as Wolverhampton and Metz agreed to a €11m transfer fee.
Traoré remains tied with the Premier League side over a contract set to expire in 2028. Unfortunately, Traoré’s past season with Wolves has been blighted by a serious meniscus injury. He only featured three times for the Molineux side last season. L’Equipe reported that the Premier League side will cover part of Traoré’s wages.
