Warmed Omari (25) has left Stade Rennais to join Bundesliga side Hamburg on a permanent deal.
The former France youth international, who has since opted to represent Comoros at international level, struggled on loan at Olympique Lyonnais last season. The defender made just four appearances for Lyon in all competitions, accumulating just 277 minutes of playing time.
When he returned to Rennes, it became quickly apparent that he was not part of the project at his formative club. He has made 94 appearances for Les Rennais, however, he will not add to that total. The centre-back has joined Hamburg on a loan deal that includes the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Omari’s departure is part of a wider reshuffle at Rennes, with many players forced towards the exit. Baptiste Santamaria has also left, joining Valencia on a permanent deal, whilst Kazeem Olaigbe has made the move to Turkey, joining Trabzonspor.
