Serbian referee Srdjan Jovanovic has been appointed to be in charge of Inter’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg match against Porto this Wednesday at the San Siro.

This is confirmed by UEFA as they release all the officials for this week’s matches, as reported by FCInterNews, which also announces that the VAR will be handled by a German officiating crew.

Jovanovic will be assisted in his duties by the likes of Uros Stojkovic and Milan Mihajlovic.

Meanwhile, the role of fourth official will be filled by Novak Simovic.

In the VAR booth, German referee Bastian Dankert will oversee the match to ensure that any errors by the on-pitch officials are corrected.

Dankert will be assisted in his duties by fellow German referee Marco Fritz.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch and not on any refereeing controversy as they go in search of a place in the quarterfinals of Europe’s top competition.
