Real Madrid kick off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in a little over an hour when they take on Al-Hilal in their Group H opener.
In what is set to be his first match in charge of the team, manager Xabi Alonso has announced the starting lineup for Real Madrid, with the Spaniard opting for a 4-3-3 formation.
As expected, Alonso has handed debuts to his new signings Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the defensive line.
Raul Asencio and Fran Garcia complete the Merengues’ backline that shields Thibaut Courtois in goal.
The three-man midfield unit is comprised of Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham as the interiors while Aurelien Tchouameni acts as the pivot.
Up top, Kylian Mbappe misses out due to a fever and as a result youngster Gonzalo Garcia gets the nod in the centre-forward position.
Flanking the academy gem are Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr., with Arda Guler left out on the bench.
